Green is the New BLACK

Hot Topic: Global warming is at an all time high. A lot of people are not aware of the damage they cause every day and the changes that can be made. Luckily, good ol' fashion is there to help raise awareness. With it's new slogan "Green is the New Black", fashion has everyone across the nation, and the world, wearing organic and second-hand clothing. Fashionistas such as Linda Loudermilk and Oscar de la Renta decided to chip in and help fashion out. Even the New York "it-girls" are ditching the oh-so popular yellow New York cab to transport their selves on an eco-friendly bicycle. In an article that I found on STREETBOG entitled "Bicycles Are the New NYC "it-girl" Fashion Accessory" the author claims that"Local celebrities like the actresses Naomi Watts and Chloƫ Sevigny and the Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen have all championed living the green life in this most public and only incidentally calorie-burning way." I say, way to go girls! I find it truly admirable for them to take their social standing to inspire the young girls that look up to them to love their planet. And that is all that the planet needs, a little TLC. Case in point: if Green is the New Black then let toxins and debris' be the new hideous horizontal stripes.
